Directors
The Directors are the official governing body of the College for Bishops, overseeing all matters of the College, including structure, finances, programs and curriculum. This group of appointed bishops and leaders from around the Church meets with the Advisory Committee to assess past performance and plan for the future.

The Most Reverend Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori, Chair
Bishop Jefferts Schori holds a B.S. degree in biology from Stanford University (1974), an M.S. (1977) and Ph.D. (1983) in oceanography from Oregon State University, an M.Div. from Church Divinity School of the Pacific (1994), and an honorary D.D. (2001) also from CDSP. Bishop Jefferts Schori brings to her ministry emphases on baptismal ministry and adult education. As Presiding Bishop, she will serve as chief pastor to the Episcopal Church’s 2.4 million members in 16 countries and 110 dioceses. As Primate, Bishop Jefferts Schori will join in consultation with other principal bishops of the 38 member Provinces of the worldwide Anglican Communion, seeking to make common cause for global good and reconciliation.
   
Neil-A The Rt Rev'd Dr. J. Neil Alexander, President
Bishop J. Neil Alexander was elected the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Atlanta on March 31, 2001, and was ordained and installed on July 7, 2001, at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta. Bishop Alexander has served the wider church as a representative of the Episcopal Church to the 2005 meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council. He served as chair of the Episcopal Church Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music, as a regent of the University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn., and as a member of the board of the Archives of the Episcopal Church. He has also served on the board of The General Theological Seminary.
   
David Alvarez crop The Rt Rev'd David Alvarez
David Andres Alvarez has been the Bishop of the Diocese of Puerto Rico since 1991. He served previously as Vicar of St. Hilda’s Church and Administrative Assistant to the previous bishop. He received his B.A. from Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, his M.Div. from the Episcopal Seminary of the Caribbean and his Psy.D. from the Caribbean Center for Advance Studies – Dr. Carlos Albizu University in Puerto Rico.
   
Bruno Jon Crop The Rt. Rev'd J. Jon Bruno
Bishop Bruno was ordained to the priesthood in 1978 in the Diocese of Los Angeles. He holds a Master of Divinity degree (1977) from the Virginia Theological Seminary, which also awarded him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 2001. Bishop Bruno became the sixth bishop of Los Angeles on Feb. 1, 2002. He is the first native Angelino to be elected Bishop in the Diocese of Los Angeles. He was elected to the Executive Council in 2006 at General Convention.
   
PColler The Rev. Canon Patricia M. Coller
Pat is Senior Executive Vice President, Retirement Programs and Services, for the Church Pension Fund. She has served the Church through the ministry of the CPF since March of 2000, first in the department of Pastoral Care and Education, and currently as the overseer of Pension Policy and Design, Pension Services and Administration, Pastoral Care and Education, Research and Recorder of Ordinations, CREDO, Companion Pension Plans, and Parish/Diocesan Services. Prior to that she served as Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Western Massachusetts. Part of her ministry in that capacity was to be the Diocesan Deployment Officer, liaison to the Commission on Ministry, and contact person for issues of Clergy Misconduct.

Bill Craddock Crop

Mr. William S. Craddock, Jr.

After 23 years as a business insurance executive, Bill worked with Trinity Church, Wall Street in the development and management of The Clergy Leadership Project from 1991 until 1995. For the next five years until the year 2000, he served as Director of The Cornerstone Project, a ministry of The Episcopal Church Foundation. Since January of 2000, he has been Managing Director of CREDO Institute, Inc. Bill has been active in his local parish, Calvary Church in Memphis, and the Diocese of West Tennessee. He has also served as a Trustee of The Church Pension Fund and a Board member of The Episcopal Church Foundation.
   
Duncan Gray Crop The Rt Rev'd Duncan M. Gray III
Duncan is the bishop of the Diocese of Mississippi, consecrated in 2000. He served previously at St. James', Greenville, Mississippi; as chaplain at Trinity School, New Orleans; associate rector at the Church of the Holy Communion, Memphis; and rector, St. Peter's, Oxford, Mississippi. He received his B.A. from the University of Mississippi and his M. Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary. Bishop Gray currently serves as a Peer Coach for The College for Bishops.



Gulick Crop The Rt Rev'd Edwin F. Gulick, Jr.
Ted has been the Bishop of the Diocese of Kentucky since his consecration in 1994. Prior to that, he served as Rector in parishes in the Diocese of Virginia and Maryland. He received his BA from Lynchburg College and MDIV from Virginia Theological Seminary.
   
clay ii The Rt Rev'd F. Clayton Matthews
Clay is the Bishop for the Office of Pastoral Development and Managing Director of the College for Bishops. Bishop Matthews was ordained in 1973 and consecrated as Bishop Suffragan in the Diocese of Virginia in 1993 after having served as Canon to the Ordinary for 8 years. He served previously in Atlanta as a school chaplain, in North Carolina as an assistant and in Virginia as rector of a church. He received his B.A. from Hampton Sydney College, his M. Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary and his D.D. from Virginia Theological Seminary.
